Discussion

[edit]

I haven't gotten the chance to read the cited article by Mathew Jones, but the content seems clear - it seems he presents an analysis of the Operation as a measure by Malaya to purge left-wing elements in Singapore, who weren't necessarily Communist, in order to guarantee political stability. I'll try to get my hands on the article if I can. However, I think the section on "Were Lim Chin Siong and Barisan Communist?" should be deleted. First, I think it's clear in the article that Lim Chin Siong may not have been a Communist, or even a Communist-sympathizer, as the article merely states "left-wing." In order to improve the article, I would recommend removing the section on Lim Chin Siong and the Barisan Socialis and integrate the section about the "barter" deal with the background as a possible analytical reason behind the action. -18.243.7.30 (talk) 21:58, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Operation Pecah

[edit]

Is anyone going to create a Wikipedia page on this topic?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.75.154.12 (talk) 06:21, 31 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"However, historians such as Kumar Ramakrishna disagree and assert that the communist threat was real. He argues that the absence of subversive communist activities is because they had adopted a clever strategy of working within the constitution to subvert Singapore to communism." How does one subvert within the constitution to communism? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.75.154.12 (talk) 06:25, 31 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Present day relationship with communist party

[edit]

Isn't ironic that in the past, so called left-wing allegedly with any hint of association with Communist of China and detained under the ruling party's instruction. Yet, forward to current times, right-wing ruling party are now working closely with Communist party of China? Articles can be found in Internet search. Example Young PAP and Communist Youth League of China, Ministry of Defence (Singapore) and People's Liberation Army exchange? How should this be mentioned here? --Reddotparty (talk) 04:13, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Reddotparty: Firstly, please WP:SIGN your posts. Also, have a look at your talk page and read everything properly over there. The content you are adding had a source, yes. But the sources also needs to mention the fact in the context of the original event (Operation coldstore). Otherwise, it is called WP:SYNTH. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 04:16, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
