can any one tell me the reason why only car is considered as an equivalent for all vehicles in calculating PCU why not a truck or bus or a 2-wheeler. what is the main reason in considering only car as the equivalent value for conversion of all vehicles in equivalent to car...

Its arbitrary. It could be trucks. But in most situations, cars are the predominate mode. Since much traffic engineering analysis is calibrated to observed conditions, the mix of vehicles would not matter if the mix were constant -- but as we know, the mix of trucks on a highway (or street) can vary significantly from one to the next. And trucks can have a significant impact on operations.

What I would like to see added to this page is suggested pce factors, along with a discussion (or data) on how they might be different in various situations (say free flow on a highway compared to a truck at a stop sign or trucks through a signalized intersection or a roundabout)

Bicycle

"PCE/hour daily"

Last I checked, hour and day were both units of time so "PCE/hour daily" doesn't make much sense unless it's a rate of change. Is it a mistake, or is some special meaning implied, such as "per hour at a certain time of day"? Thanks. Pastychomper (talk) 16:00, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
