This information is from my Latin teacher, Dr. Harstaad (that is probably spelled wrong). He is very intelligent in these matters, however, I cannot say that it must be fact. I did have a hard time finding information on ancient pedagogs, so I went with what I had.

   Missing
      -etymology (greek and latin)
      -Greek history
      -education of slaves

The word is greek but it was used in ancient Rome? On the Swedish page it says that the term was used in ancient Athen but with no references. --Tjutberg (talk) 18:51, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
