[edit]Could Magic Hulls be incorporated here somewhere? --Spangineerws (háblame) 22:17, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Merging Magic Bard
[edit]Magic Bard requires some knowledge of the Pellinor article to be useful and is marked as needing context and as being of unclear importance, so I would suggest that it is applicable for merging under WP:MM#Context. It has also been subject to an incorrect redirect, possibly due to lack of context. It would probably be merged into Pellinor#Characters, unless there are objections to the move.Weaving dreams 18:02, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
Bard (please merge into article)
[edit]A Bard(also known as Dhillarearen, or one of the Starpeople) is a magician in the world of Pellinor created by Alison Croggon. They have an internal magic, which can be principally used as:
- Instinctual Knowledge (the Knowing),
- Healing Ability, and
- Warcraft and other offensive skills.
Bards also have the instinctive ability to use the Speech which is a language all their spells are spoken in. The Speech also allows Bards to converse with animals, most notably cats and birds. Non-Bards may learn the Speech as their second language, but it loses all mystic properties when spoken by them.
Bards have a natural longevity, and live to be roughly 200-250 years old, although some have been known to live to be over 300. This can create sadness for Bards, as their families grow withered and die long before they themselves do.
Bards are primarily concerned with keeping the Balance between the Light and the Dark. Bards who long for power and do not concern themselves with the Balance become corrupt and turn into Hulls. What the hull?
The three arts of Bards are known as Reading, Making and Tending. These three arts comprise of the balance, and are all a part of good Barding.
Famous Bards include:
- Dernhil of Gent,
- Cadvan of Lirigon,
- Maerad of Pellinor,
- Hem of Pellinor, and
- Saliman of Turbansk —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sr13 (talk • contribs) 04:25, 30 April 2007 (UTC).
^I disagree with the above information. It's all subjective, not objective. Also, way to ruin the story for people in the description for the first book, guys... :\ I'm glad I read it before I found the Wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.48.40.250 (talk) 16:38, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:The crow1.jpg
[edit]Image:The crow1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
