[edit]Hi, it is good to see you adding equations and picture into your article. Basic principle for penning ionization is well explained. And overall your article is in an understandable way. I just have a small question for the equation on the surface S. Should one of the product carry odd electron? Or it is omitted, like the positive charge of S is omitted?
suggestion:
1 I'm not sure if it is only my computer's problem, the picture in your article looks a little bit small, so it may be better to make it larger.
2 Add citation for the picture if it is adapted from somewhere.
3 Add more information about the topic.
4 If you describe electron spectroscopy and glow discharge mass spectrometry as applications, it is better to put them in a section.
Hope these help.
