Proposal to move page

[edit]

The correct name for this kind of corset is a pipe-stem corset. I propose moving this page to 'Pipe-stem corset'.

If nobody objects, I'll move the page in a few days. Katherine Shaw 10:47, Sep 2, 2004 (UTC)

Having done a bit of research, I think I was confused. There is a difference, I think, between a corset with a pipe-stem waist and a pipe-shaped (i.e. tubular) corset. If anybody could clarify, that would be great - at the moment I'm just having conversations with myself... Katherine Shaw 15:15, Sep 6, 2004 (UTC)

Relevance of picture

[edit]

I'm not sure that the picture is actually of a pipe-stem corset. I always thought that "pipe-stem" referred to a corset with a cyclindrical waist section. The picture appears to be the straight-fronted S-bend style of corset. Katherine Shaw 10:47, Sep 2, 2004 (UTC)
