[edit]This article is still under construction and I'd like to be able to finish it without having any of the information removed. I realize I copied and pasted material but that was for reference, not to leave it as copyrighted material. It's my first article and I apologize for the inconvenience.
Can I leave it as is for the night if I quote the copyrighted material and link to their pages?
For the website http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/pinesnak.htm please look at their copyright terms on this page http://www.state.nj.us/nj/legal.html#copyright : "Section E. Copyright and Trademark Limitations
The State of New Jersey has made the content of these pages available to the public and anyone may view, copy or distribute State information found here..." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Emblazingstar (talk • contribs) 06:44, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, I apologize over the New Jersey website; most state government websites don't release their copyrighted material under such broad terms. For the time being you can still see the old version of the article for reference, so please feel free to copy over any of your own material or free-use quotations to Talk:Northern Pine Snake/Temp. When the old version is deleted, the temporary page will take its place. Melchoir 19:20, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Temp page is done. Emblazingstar 07:59, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Geographic range
[edit]The first ¶ under the heading "Geographic range" applies to the genus Pituophis as a whole. The 2nd ¶ does delineate the pine snake's range. Meanwhile, the Pituophis WP article has no "Geographic range". Perhaps someone who is more skilled/computer literate than I could transfer the entire first ¶ from the Pituophis melanoleucus page to the Pituophis page. 74.109.236.194 (talk) 11:27, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
I edited the first paragraph, narrowing it down so that it now refers only to the distribution of P. melanoleucus as a whole, citing Wright & Wright, 1957, and Conant, 1975, each of which has an excellent map. The second paragraph refers to the various subspecies of P. melanoleucus. 108.17.71.21 (talk) 15:55, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
