South indian bias shows improper etymology for place suffixes
[edit]In this page the South Indian bias shows improper etymology for place suffixes. The attribution of telugu as the origin for patnam and other suffixes like -kota is incorrect, although patnam is definitely a telugu word now but its origin is in sanskrit. Same is true of -kota/-kot, for e.g. sialkot, pathan-kot, kota in rajasthan, kot bahawal, kot addu and so on. This is true of some other suffixes as well. The author who wrote had inadequate knowledge of other languages and of telugu and other languages as well. This inadequacy has caused incorrect analysis of the etymology of many suffixes. 2601:646:9501:BCB0:349A:C97F:571C:98F7 (talk) 17:13, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
