You mention that placenta percreta and placenta increta are variants of placenta accreta. That is imprecise. The umbrella term for these conditions is placent creta. The prefix accreta describes a placenta that is firmly anchored to the placental site but not invading the myometrium. This is the commonest situation. You mention that accreta is invasion of the myometrium. That is simply incorrect. Increta describes partial thickness myometrial involvement and percreta penetration through the full thickness of the myometrium. Reference: Textbook of Postpartum Hemorrhage: Chapter36 Pathology of the Uterus (page 326 - 338) Ed. C.B-Lynch. Sapiens Publishing, 2006. I propose that you change the title of this entry "Placenta Creta" and that an auto link to this page be made from the term "Placenta Accreta".
