merging this with sweden's colonial empire doesn't sound like a good idea, since this article lists a lot of possessions who were not part of the 17th and 18th century colonial drive, but rather results of the perpetual fighting among european nations. the colonial conquest has its own, interesting, history, and shouldn't be dissolved into a chronicle of wars in general - and that argument goes both ways.
