I miss informations about the history:

  1. When were the postal codes introduced? Existed predecessors to the current system?
  2. Was the codes changed after the end of the Soviet Union?
    • If not: Are the codes of the non-russian parts re-used?
  3. When was these funny machine-readable numbers are invented?
