Definition and example appear inconsistent

The definition seems to imply most adjustments occur prior to closing; but, the example appears to refer to an event that occurs after the closing. I have no expertise in this area. It would be helpful to:

  1. clarify the time frame during which purchase price adjustments may be made;
  2. clarify how many (if more than one) purchase price adjustments may occur; and,
  3. form an example more consistent with the definition.
  • Current definition: Purchase Price Adjustments capture the change in value of an asset typically between the negotiation and closing.
  • Current example: ... Following the closing, Antonio approached Shylock ...
