"Puyo Puyo Fever 3"

I have googled the name of such supposed upcoming title in both English and Japanese and have got nothing regarding it. The paragraph is uncited so I will be removing it. Feel free to re-add the information if you find a reliable source. LlamaDude78 (talk) 16:41, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

There's a heck of a lot of vandalism/trolling on the Puyo video game articles about nonexistent games, characters, and so on, which should really be taken with a pinch of salt. I come around and remove/revert it from time to time. ~ Keiji (iNVERTED) (Talk) 19:42, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

"really became popular"

This diff disputes "became really popular", and this one removes external links. While I agree with most of User:TheRedPenOfDoom's edits here, Hardcore Gaming 101 is what I would consider a reliable source, it has info on a lot of obscure games that you wouldn't tend to find anywhere else (in English, anyway). It is that site that is the source for this phrase, just below the first image (my bold):

While originally released for the MSX and Famicom, Puyo Puyo got really popular when it hit arcades and introduced the competitive play. As you can see above, massive tournaments were occasionally held in Japan. For a long time, this series is what kept Compile going - several Puyo spinoffs were made to capitalize on the popularity (and while the some of the RPGs are good, the others...are not.) Sega distributed the arcade versions, so their consoles often got the Puyo games before any of the other systems.

The international name should be used.

If the Mega Drive article is called Sega Genesis in spite of it only being called that in the USA, wouldn't it make more sense for the articles to use the international name, outside of titles not released internationally? I know it's probably more well-known in japan and by it's japanese name, but I'm saying this because it should be uniform. I'm pretty sure wikipedia usually favors western localizations over japanese titles for article names to begin with too. 2605:E000:1318:FD:35D9:E53C:A7BE:D223 (talk) 08:09, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Puyo Puyo Company

My guess is that Compile entrusted Sega so Sega can make Puyo Puyo popular in the future. 108.217.224.19 (talk) 13:05, 13 June 2019 (UTC)
