Error in Size
[edit]The article says, "There are in this department about 1.845 km2 (1 sq mi)". This is obviously a direct translation of a Spanish text, because it is not well written English. It contains an elementary formatting error. In the United States 1.845 is less than two, while 1,825 is nearly two thousand. The conversion to 1 sq mi is also an obvious indication that the author is not a native English speaker. One square mile is a tiny amount of land. You can walk around the outside of a square mile in less than an hour. I note that 1845 is the number of square kilometers in the department. That is 705 square miles. I believe that he entire department is mountainous, and covered with tropical rain forest. I am going to correct this to my best guess. Could someone who knows correct it? A better narrative than most department articles, but a lot of cleanup (especially English-language correction) needed. |
