[edit]I heard that this GPU family is called ATI Radeon Hd 6000, first to be up is i think HD 6750 WCLL HK (talk) 09:55, 26 May 2010 (UTC)WCLL HK (talk) 17:57, 26 May 2010 (UTC+8)
Is it too speculative to state these cards will support DX11? I mean the HD 5xxx series already and DX12 won't be around for years. Can I add that this series supports DX11? 213.93.101.238 (talk) 17:02, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- Same reason I update it for opengl 4.2, cause directsucks 11 is functionality-same with opengl4.2, yet not crossplatform. 87.79.87.13 (talk) 20:47, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
Someone change code names
[edit]Southern Islands is actually Northern Islands and vice versa, please modify successors, etc. as I can't —Preceding unsigned comment added by DjiXas (talk • contribs) 08:52, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

My Edits are Valid
[edit]ATi is ATi, AMD is AMD.
Sure, AMD acquired ATi in 2006, BUT AMD does NOT make the GPUs. ATi does. AMD is a CPU company, not a GPU one, and they merely Slapped their Logo on recent GPUs: Nothing more.
I will proceed to correct these pages.
- And we will continue to revert it. AMD bought ATI thus AMD is designing these chips, ATI was just left as brand name. --Denniss (talk) 17:07, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
- Lol, you claim ATI still exists and cards are ATI? Then you must be calling nvidia cards "3dfx" instead? Call any amd gpu representative and ASK. Here is wrong place to make theories. Facts are - amd BOUGHT ati and all its assets, all IP and all crew. They fired no one except idiot managers (ati supported linux like garbage for example, from amd that started to change) and later they changed the label to amd, in order to proceed with FUSION project. Don´t you worry, there are same engineers working in current amd gpu, that worked in ati. So, its AMD Radeon. 87.79.87.13 (talk) 20:52, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
New Info
[edit]hy i heard that there new info about HD 7000 and AMD said that the GCN uses SIMD in the CU(Compute Unit)So if i could change it is ok? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cretman121 (talk • contribs) 19:09, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

7310 and 7340
[edit]the Brazos 2.0 fusion CPUs have 7310 and 7340 GPUs: List_of_AMD_Fusion_microprocessors#Brazos_2.0. The name suggests that they are SI GPUs, but they are not listed here. The CPUs are at 40nm, could they have a 28nm GPU on the same die? --194.36.2.65 (talk) 11:49, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
Radeon HD 7890 coming...

Idle TDP
[edit]When adding the 7790 I noticed, AMD didn't provide the idle TDP as they did with previous cards of the series. They only mention the sub 3W ZeroCore power. For now idle power of the 7790 is set to 10W to be in line with the other cards, however, I'd like to note that this is not a very exact measure. Also the max TDP is actually "typical board power" in AMD nomenclature, which might mean that the actual TDP is higher than that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SCF0 (talk • contribs) 11:39, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
Rebranding
[edit]Apparently the Desktop Sea Island parts are going to be HD7000 series for some unknown reason. At least 1 Sea Island part the HD7790 is already out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.50.30.133 (talk) 15:19, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
The marketing names
[edit]The marketing names are *really* confusing and generally don't align with the actual GPU generations. Early it wasn't as bad on 5xxx cards, but it has gone off the deep end on 6xxx+ cards. Generations and marketing names are mixed on 7000 and 8000 series cards. This article shows bonaire as Southern Islands, but it is actually a Sea islands chipset. (8000 generation rebranded mid 7000) so the rebranding goes forwards and backwards :(
The X.org wiki has a list of cards and generations here: http://wiki.x.org/wiki/RadeonFeature/ it may be more accurate as AMD engineers work on it. Kallisti05 (talk) 18:52, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
HD7730
[edit]Do we have any information on the HD7730? I have one source saying it is cape verde (LE? I am speculating it is LE) 121.45.227.6 (talk) 04:34, 31 July 2013 (UTC)

For some reason the release prices were changed. I don't want to fix them and have them go back to what they were and I don't know how to do that correctly. 96.244.153.20 (talk) 22:03, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

HD 7790 OpenCL 2.0 with GCN 2nd

Vulkan 1.1 only for GCN 1.2 (2nd gen.) or higher
[edit]See Khronos Vulkan conformant product Table.
No Vulkan 1.1 for 1st GCN gen.
— Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.90.228.17 (talk) 23:20, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
See [1]
GCN 1.1 or 1st gen in Khronos are not conformant to Vulkan 1.1. They are only compatible to the Driver with Vulkan 1.0 as a Subset. it is the Same for OpenCL. Only OpenCL 2.x Cards can Do Vulkan 1.1 and that is GCN 1.2 and higher.
See also OpenCL in Khronos See [2]
Nvidia is here better. Kepler and higher can Do Vulkan 1.1. All products of the Last years can Do it and not only half.
