Radio 4 Longwave demise... and with it, Teleswitch?

[edit]

This article needs an impartial expert to address the likelyhood that BBC Radio 4's longwave transmitter is down to it's last couple of valves, nobody makes the valves anymore, and the BBC's stated strategy from 2011 is that longwave transmissions will cease once the valves blow. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/oct/09/bbc-radio4-long-wave-goodbye Andrew Oakley (talk) 15:26, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Has not that very claim about some valves in the same reference in the Droitwich_Transmitting_Station entry has been refuted by http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2042526 listed as the reference following it? SlySven (talk) 00:33, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
