Ideology[edit]

The Ideology concepts added to the infobox by Czello have no support in sources which describe the party's programme as focused on reforming "the voting system, the House of Lords, the BBC and other institutions".[1] The Express also reminds Farage's 2019 election programme: "voting reform, the abolition of the House of Lords in favour of an elected second chamber, and the creation of a written constitution."[2]. In Farage's own words: We have a huge opportunity as a nation post-Brexit, but there are many areas of the UK that need real, bold reform: our economy, House of Lords, BBC, civil service, the voting system to mention a few.[3] We see no support of "Euroscepticism". Anti-lockdown on the other hand is not an ideology, even if it may be included in a party's programme! — kashmīrī TALK 18:36, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this seems to largely be a split from the ongoing debate about whether Reform UK is a successor to the Brexit Party or a continuation of the same party. I'd rather not start a separate discussion here about ideology until the naming debate is resolved on the main article. After all, whether we call Reform UK Eurosceptic is dependent on whether or not we consider it to be the Brexit party renamed or not. I take your point about lockdown scepticism not being an ideology, though. — Czello 18:44, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reform UK is a continuation of the Brexit Party with a new name. I'd agree that 'anti-lockdown' is not an ideology. As an objective I think your wording 'lockdown scepticism' is better than 'anti-lockdown'.Flexdream (talk) 20:44, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Every statement must be sourced. While we have plenty of sources re. Euroscepticism for the Brexit Party, we have virtually none for Reform UK. Pushing the term in here will amount to original research. — kashmīrī TALK 01:54, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Again, though, this comes down to the question about whether or not they're the same entity and merely had a name change. If they are then Euroscepticism can still be included with BXP citations. — Czello 08:19, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reform UK is just the new name for the Brexit Party, they are the same entity. Unlike UKIP which is a separate and unrelated entity. Flexdream (talk) 17:22, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Flexdream: I agree with you, but the RfC regarding this is still ongoing on Talk:Brexit Party. — Czello 18:15, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It isn't a matter of opinion that Reform UK is the Brexit Party renamed; it's a fact. Reform UK exists because the then Brexit Party applied to the Electoral Commission for a change of name, not because the Brexit Party was dissolved and a new party founded. As such, Reform UK shouldn't have a separate page. There is evidence of this. Vabadus91 (talk) 00:36, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Vabadus91: You seem to be confusing Wikipedia with a company register. See the RfC at Talk:Brexit Party. — kashmīrī TALK 11:18, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Considering that the Electoral Commission isn't a company register, I'm not.

The question is whether Reform is the renamed BXP or a new party. The Electoral Commission determines the answer to that question. Vabadus91 (talk) 20:07, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
