Does this piece address the controversy of church organizations who claim loyalty to the vatican - but only selective loyalty

[edit]

I think this article should be expanded in some way to discuss the stations use of loyalty to the Vatican as a cover for political and social ideology which runs contrary to the historical church and in some way serves the purpose not of catholic truth, but of historical revisionism about the faith and what it truly means to be a catholic by only presenting one-side of it. Opposition to abortion is frequently discussed, however, opposition to the death penalty is not.

Relevant Radio aimed at orthodox Roman Catholics

Relevant Radio is aimed at orthodox Roman Catholics, not “conservative” Catholics. "Conservative" is a political term, and a misnomer when applied to the Church. The Catholic faith is not governed by "right" or "left," "conservative" or "liberal." She walks the line of Truth, which generally lies in the political middle.

Opposition to abortion is frequently discussed, as are many non-negotiable Church teachings, but the death penalty is discussed as well. It is probably not discussed as much as abortion, of course, most likely because Catholics can, in good faith, disagree with Church teaching on the death penalty, but not on the killing of an innocent human life.

While most Catholics who are faithful to the Magisterium agree with the current teaching on the death penalty(that it is rarely if ever necessary), Catholics are not bound by this teaching.

Relevant Radio Continues To Amass Debt=

[edit]

With a recent pledge drive not reaching a goal (as stated by their afternoon announcer), Relevant Radio continues to jettison long-time employees, often gutting staff of local stations. This has impacted local news and community contact to a great degree. The apparent focus is now on "big cites' where "big revenue" can hopefully be found. But at the same time, the number of people in key positions with actual experience in radio broadcasting has been slashed. This raises the question of whether Relevant Radio will be able to identify trends in listeners and adapt to changing listening habits. In a sense, those in charge are not broadcasting, they are "narrowcasting" to a small segment of American Catholics who would prefer more Latin and less Vatican II influence. Whether this shrinking base will be enable to support the efforts of the network is in question. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.91.71.67 (talk) 20:41, 13 August 2008 (UTC) This Radio Station is a fraud!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.235.5.148 (talk) 13:15, 6 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
