A: Many discussions have been had on this matter, and current consensus is to use Ireland to describe the island (which includes Northern Ireland) and the Republic of Ireland to describe the state. By order of the Arbitration Committee, all discussions from June 2009 to December 2023 of this article's title had to take place at a special project set up to deal with this issue.
