Stephen Lawrence case[edit]

The Stephen Lawrence case is not relevant to res judicata -- which applies to CIVIL law, not criminal law.

The equivalent concept in criminal law is double jeopardy -- which is the doctrine that one cannot be re-tried (by the same sovereign) for a crime of which one has been previously acquitted.

I have therefore removed the Stephen Lawrence case from this article.
