I think Rheochord is just an archaic name for Rheostat. Nuttall's definition is rather inaccurate and I prefer the one at Online Medical Dictionary Biscuittin 11:05, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Definition
[edit]The free dictionary defines rheochord as "A metallic wire used for regulating the resistance of a circuit, or varying the strength of an electric current, by inserting a greater or less length of it in the circuit."[1] That is different to the definition in the article. --Colapeninsula (talk) 17:50, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
