Pronunciation

That pronunciatio thing is just not true. I am going to delete it. his name is pronounced DRY-fuss, not DRAY-fuss. Its a european pronunciation, the DRAY-fuss. I swear to you it's DREY-fuss, and since theres no ciation for it, im gonna cut it. Janemansfield74 19:00, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

personal life

in the section personal life, it says his name is German for "tripod" but he claims to be a descendent of the famous wrongly convicted french officer Alfred Dreyfuss. and also, dreyfuss is not "tripod" as claimed, the closest thing in German is drei fuss which means three feet not tripod. BTW, why is that information pertinent?

I looked it up, and dreyfuss is Yiddish, not German, for "tripod." Of course, "tripod" itself is simply Graeco-Latin for "three foot." marbeh raglaim 15:21, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Status Update

I've edited some of the material, added more information about some aspects of his career including his work in the past two years, and have doubled the references. As a result, I'm removing the "Needs more References" tag and hope that despite some slight grammatical editing, this might be upgraded to the next class of article on Wikipedia.

Lost antecedent, bad contraction

Here is a quote from the article:

Nathan Lane was brought in to replace Dreyfuss in the London production. It later emerged that he'd been fired.[13]

I want to be nice. Somebody who is not me took the time to write this, and I thank you. Here are a couple of suggestions for improvement:

First, he'd is not a standard English contraction, although it is understandable to most native English speakers, at least Americans. But it should be written out, he had

Second, and more significantly, I can not decided whether it was Dreyfuss or Nathan Lane who had been fired. So the problem with the contraction is moot, instead of he, the word should be either Dreyfuss or Lane.

Dreyfuss affair

Is he in any way related to the infamous Dreyfuss affair jewish official? And to Julia Louis-Dreyfuss (of Seinfeld fame)?
