Merge or better still Delete the ripcord is described in the parachute article. It is not peculiar to sky diving. There are probably other uses outside parachuting but none spring to mind. mikeL

Ripcord motors in Gods-know how many toys. Buggered if I know anything that can be written on them, I just know the exist.

The Parachuting article is already too long. I'm in the middle of re-organizing Parachuting and related articles. This process will take a few weeks. Though I didn't create it, I have a lot of information and photos to add to this article. BTW, the toy reference is more properly known as a zip-cord for the sound it makes.
