Kishwaukee Park[edit]

The source claiming that the park was at 10th and Kishwaukee uses the term "total guess" in their writeup about when it was used.[1] Not only that, it's incorrect. I've been reviewing Rockford newspapers and city directories from that era (from pay sites), and Kishwaukee Park was first used by the minor league club in 1913, after they left a venue called Riverside Park. Kishwaukee Park was at 15th Avenue and Seminary. The club dropped out of the 3-I League after 1923, and they sold the ballpark to Rockford High School to be used as their athletic field. It soon became known as 15th Avenue Stadium or Rockford Municipal Stadium. The Rockford Peaches called it home during their 12 years of existence. In 1948 it was renamed Beyer Stadium. I intend to repair the mistakes in this article unless someone wants to discuss it first. :) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 05:16, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
