Weiss vs. Weiß

[edit]

The spelling "Weiss" makes the article accessible to English language users - the symbol ß is not readily available on the English keyboard. A re-direct exists and I may switch the two pages around to reflect the correct German usage. P.S. Your note belongs on the article talk page, not as a trivia item in the article. Thanks. Okay, it's switched around. Wiggy! 16:33, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm confused. On 19 Feb 07, you redirected to FC Rot-Weiss Essen and then on 8 Mar 07, you switched it so the default for the English language wiki uses the German language spelling. That doesn't make any sense. Also, shouldn't de:Rot-Weiss Essen be de:Rot-Weiß Essen? Nevermind, this should clear up both issues. The German language wiki on the page explains this issue (follow either of the "de" links and read if you know German). Basically, the correct way to write "white" in German is "weiß", but the team's name is registered officially as Rot-Weiss Essen and, as such, the German language wiki redirects Rot-Weiß Essen to Rot-Weiss Essen (and so should we).--Littleman_TAMU (talk) 23:13, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
