Neither story about Greg Brush specifically states that he was carrying the Ruger Alaskan, however, a series of photographs which have not all been published at reputable news sources have appeared on online blogs, forums, and spam emails that clearly show Brush holding his .454/.45LC Alaskan next to the bear carcass. Merger with Ruger Super Redhawk

I feel that the Alaskan is a part of the Super Redhawk family, not a distinct design (see http://www.ruger.com/products/superRedhawk/index.html). This is similar to the way that the SIG Sauer P226 and the P229 are treated. Faceless Enemy (talk) 00:21, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
