[edit]whats the name of the theme song for thursday night football on NFL network
Really?
[edit]The following statement was recently removed from the article: "The Ravens-Bengals game on November 30th was not available on Directv systems due to a technical problem in the system, blacking out millions of Directv customers from the Ravens-Bengals game."
I get DirecTV and I can report that there were no problems in the transmission of the telecast itself. However, some viewers may have been unable to see the game due to local weather conditions. When a storm hits, the DirecTV signal may be knocked off and replaced by a message reading "Searching for satellite signal." I know that many parts of the South and Midwest had major storms that day, and in fact it rained heavily in Cincinnati itself.
Also, viewers in the Cincinnati area may have had the game blacked out, if Paul Brown Stadium did not sell out before the 72-hour deadline.
I am calling on the contributor to clarify the above information and repost as appropriate, with sources. - Desmond Hobson 18:25, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- UPDATE: The same erroneous information, with different wording, was posted on Christmas Day in another part of the page by the IP address 72.79.97.118. To repeat, the November 30 Ravens-Bengals game was broadcast on DirecTV. - Desmond Hobson 21:47, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
2008 Schedule
[edit]In 2006 and 2007, the 5 Thursday night games were Weeks 12-16, starting on Thanksgiving (Nov. 23, 2006 and Nov. 22, 2007), and ending with the penultimate week of the season (Dec. 21, 2006 and Dec. 20, 2007); there was no Thursday night game the last week of the season (Dec. 28, 2006 and Dec. 27, 2007). The 3 Saturday night games were Weeks 15-17, the last 3 weeks of the season (Dec. 16, 23, and 30, 2006; and Dec. 15, 22, and 29, 2007).
However, in 2008, Thanksgiving falls on Nov. 27, a week later (Week 13 rather than Week 12) than in 2006 and 2007. How will they handle the schedule? Will they start the Thursday night games the week before Thanksgiving (Nov. 20, 2008), and otherwise follow the same basic pattern as 2006 and 2007? Or, will they have a Thursday night game during the last week of the season (which would be Christmas, Dec. 25), even though there was no Thursday night game that week in 2006 and 2007 (and there has never been a Thursday night game on Christmas, although they do have Sunday night and Monday night games on Christmas)? Or will they instead do 4 Thursday night games (weeks 13-16) and 4 Saturday night games (weeks 14-17)? Or does nobody know? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.184.64.197 (talk) 00:53, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Football on thursday nights
[edit]This article is a redirect from Thursday night football. I understand its focus on the television package, but I believe a brief explanation as to why NFL games are played on Thursdays or Saturdays would be useful. The article suggests that was the case even before the NFL Network broadcasts that are the focus of the article, but offers no explanation to why such games started appearing. As I understand it, Monday games exist because of interest from broadcasters. It does not seem that is the case for Thursday games. Or is it? /Coffeeshivers (talk) 12:59, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Run to the Playoffs → Thursday Night Football — "Run to the Playoffs" was obscure to begin with, and more importantly, is no longer used. NFL Network is now using "Thursday Night Football" for all the games, with non-Thursday games labeled as "Special Editions." J. Myrle Fuller (talk) 03:52, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Ending Theme is not the same as the [opening] theme (FOX)
[edit]TNF on FOX has a varying ending theme, and it is not the NFL on FOX theme. This is true for Sunday Games (usually when Joe Buck is not in the booth), but for TNF on FOX, it is not true. This needs to get changed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Can I Log In (talk • contribs) 02:44, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
Package
[edit]What does "package" mean in this article? I'm guessing it has something to do with licensing agreements with broadcasters, but it would be nice if it were clearer. --Macrakis (talk) 22:28, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
