Page movement
[edit]@Shirshore: You write SSC movement as "more appropriate and commonly known name", can you provide evidence?--Freetrashbox (talk) 10:19, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Freetrashbox: The name SSC-HBM was never used by the administration, it was commonly known as SSC. I just added Movement because SSC is a disimipguation page. You can change it back but the article would be difficult for readers to find. I self myself happen to come across it by chance. I didn’t know it existed. Thanks, Shirshore (talk) 16:29, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
@Shirshore: The name of the Wikipedia article must be a commonly recognizable names. If we cannot find an example of the usage "SSC movement", then it is not appropriate to use this as the name. The source I researched (used in this article) states the following:
- Haggaanka Mideynta iyo Badbaadinta Gobolada SSC ee Soomalia: Hoehne (2015)
- HBM-SSC: piracyreport.com (2012)
- SSCA: United Nations (2011)
- (the) SSC:
- SSC (regional government): Hoehne (2015)
- SSC (armed group): aljazeera.com (2010)
- SSC (Dhulbahante clan): horseedmedia.com (2010)
- SSC (clan millitant): unpo.org (2011)
- SSC Militia(s): Forti (2011), piracyreport.com (2011)
I think we should choose one of these. I adopted number 2, but I think other ones would be fine. I think SSC (regional government) is second better choice.--Freetrashbox (talk) 02:42, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Freetrashbox: Okay. You can move it to SSC Regional Government, I’m fine with that. Also well good for your contribution to the article. Shirshore (talk) 03:35, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
@Shirshore: Now then, if we wait a while and no additional comments are received, I will move it to SSC (regional government).--Freetrashbox (talk) 03:54, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
@Freetrashbox: great. Thanks! Shirshore (talk) 07:23, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- I was going to wait until the deletion request was closeed, but since it did not end well, I changed the name of the article to SSC (militia). This name also takes into account the opinions expressed in the deletion request.--Freetrashbox (talk) 11:01, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

Spelling
[edit]@Freetrashbox: I was just correcting the spelling. Shirshore (talk) 21:56, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
Page name
[edit]@QalasQalas: You changed the name of this page from "SSC (militia)" to "Sool, Sanaag, Ceyn." The name of the organization, "SSC," does indeed stand for "Sool, Sanaag, Ceyn," but the BBC and various other articles use "SSC" as the name of the organization, not as an abbreviation. And "Sool, Sanaag, Ceyn" is confusing with place names. Also, as discussed above, the current page names are agreed upon. Freetrashbox (talk) 12:30, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Freetrashbox also agreed, Thanks. QalasQalas (talk) 18:31, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
