Railroad bridge

[edit]

Shouldn't the railroad bridge have a separate article? JNW2 22:45, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like a plan. - Denimadept (talk) 17:13, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sources of interest

[edit]

These were added by an anon IP but not yet used:

Minutes of RI STATE PLANNING COUNCIL, TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE, June 23, 2011 at 6:30 p.m., Department of Administration, One Capitol Hill, Providence, RI

Under the TIP’s Major Projects with Multi Year Funding program, Mr. Shawver (RI DOT) ... noted that DOT has run out of funds for the Sakonnet River Bridge due to an increase in construction costs.

Perhaps someone might look into them and use them. - Denimadept (talk) 07:14, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bridge specs

[edit]

It would be really useful to have specs on the bridge - this would help sailboats tremendously. The bridge deck is very slanted. What are the bridge clearances on the east and west sides of the main navigable span? I hear that the bridge clearance is 65'. Is that the low west end, or the high east end? For those with 60 -65' masts, that would make a huge difference. A few years ago, a charter boat got dismasted going under that bridge. Boat was probably a total loss after the incident. 216.195.2.100 (talk) 15:29, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
