Dunnet Head, the most northerly point of the UK mainland.
[edit]Dunnet Head is the most northerly point on the UK mainland, and has been described as "Caithness in miniature" and a "Wildlife gem". The Dunnet Head Educational Trust, a registered Scottish charity, has been promoting the headland since the Trust was launched in 2003. In 2009 a DVD was released by the Trust and a short version is available on You Tube <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9PCP1mcG__o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>.
In 2011 the Trust launched its very popular book "WW2 Military Sites in Caithness" which features the sites at Dunnet Head and Burifa Hill. The book was sponsored by Historic Scotland, Orkney Islands Council, the Caithness Radio Amateur Society (CARS) and the Stromness British Legion.
More information about the work of the Trust can be found at www.dunnethead.co.uk. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dunnethead (talk • contribs) 08:37, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
