Meaning of the word Serkland
[edit]I seem to recall that the word Serkland referred to the muslim countries where the women would be draped in veils (burkas, hijabs or whatever they are called).
Can anyone verify that?--Nwinther 07:21, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- One of very many etymological theories (or should I say fantasies). --Ghirla-трёп- 08:15, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- Well, in Old Danish, Serk litterally means skirt.--Nwinther 11:03, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
