  • Well-written -the prose is clear and concise, respects copyright laws, and the spelling and grammar are correct; and it complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.
  • Verifiable with no original research: it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline; it provides in-line citations from reliable sources for direct quotations, statistics, published opinion, counter-intuitive or controversial statements that are challenged or likely to be challenged, and contentious material relating to living persons—science-based articles should follow the scientific citation guidelines; and it contains no original research.
  • Broad in its coverage: it addresses the main aspects of the topic; and it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
  • Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without bias, giving due weight to each.
  • Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
  • Illustrated, if possible, by images: images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid fair use rationales are provided for non-free content; and images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
  • Disambig links: No Issues
  • Reference check: No issues

Comments: This article has several issues. The first being that it does not meet the WP:LEAD criteria as it does not summarize the content of the article. It does not even give her birth name or life's details in summary. This needs to be fixed. The images are also much larger than they should be, please reduce their size and add the "clear" templates if needed to prevent page distortion. The images used are all out of copyright, but that does not change the fact that five images are used and only 3 of them are necessary to show the subject. This is up to you, but I think some work on the image size would result in a better flow of this article, the images are distracting at this point. Please add alt-text to the images for WP:ACCESS, this is more of an FA criteria, though. I wonder if this article is really broad and focused because three biographies of her life have been published, but the article is barely 2 pages of text. There is very little about the roles in the films she played and I think this could definitely be expanded. As a result, I wonder if it meets the focused aspect of the GA criteria. The text is itself is also lacking in some context as for the Three-anti Five-anti Campaigns and a few other matters that the reader will not be familiar with. I'll place this on hold for fixes. Thanks for your review. I've expanded the lead to better summarize the article, and reduced the default image size by adding the "upright" parameter, which I didn't know existed. I've also removed an image and added alt-text to the remaining ones. I've been trying to find more information about her roles in the films she starred in, but unfortunately most English sources don't discuss them in enough detail, while all her three biographies were published in China and not accessible to me (in Canada). -Zanhe (talk) 15:42, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'll pass this, because even though the details are lacking, a GA is not comprehensive and it does actually go out and extend the further reading aspect. This won't make FA, but I think it is one of the better biography articles and would be worthy of GA status because of its balanced and neutral approach.
