DeFelice Bombing[edit]

On Tuesday June 6, 1989 Phillip DeFelice's planted locker bomb exploded near the gymnasium injuring Brian Kerfoot, 15 year-old freshman. Phillip was a senior who had been taunted and bullied by his freshman schoolmates. Senior year planned his revenge and devised a devious plan. Sunday night Phillip stole materials from the school's metal shop and began making a bomb with gunpowder given to him from a friend. When it was completed, the bomb was a foot long, eight inches wide, had two batteries and a string to connect it to the door of a school locker. That Monday night at a banquet at which he received a $500-a-year state scholarship, he slipped away and planted the bomb Brian's locker, one of his tormentors. Tuesday morning, when Brian opened his locker, the bomb exploded, but did not bring about Phillip's desired result. The locker contained the blast and explosion went upward, not outward. Brian received first- and second-degree burns on his face, arms and neck. Phillip was arrested and was charged with attempted aggravated arson, aggravated assault, second-degree burglary and possession of explosive devices.

Edit request on 8 July 2012[edit]

The boys tennis team won the South Jersey Group IV championship beating Atlantic City 3-2. At 2-2 the first doubles team rallied back from 2-5 to win the deciding set 7-5. It was the first time Shawnee had won the SJ Group IV championship since 1996. They went on to lose to Westfield High school in the Group IV State semi finals 3-0. http://www.phillyburbs.com/sports/high_school/bct/shawnee-boys-tennis-wins-sectional-title/article_88c9dbb9-0322-5196-b9d7-d20e18900f4f.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doctorfeelgood3 (talkcontribs) 20:09, July 8, 2012‎

Done, though I added an additional source and corrected the part about Westfield High School winning 3-0. The school actually won 4-1. --Apollo1758 (talk) 20:30, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
