Proposed deletion or move

[edit]

I propose that this page be deleted, or moved to Shrewsbury College (disambiguation) without leaving a redirect, so that Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology can be moved to this page.

My justification is that Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology (SCAT) was rebranded as Shrewsbury College some while ago (not just abbreviated, as it suggests on this page). It appears to be the only real life Shrewsbury College in the world, so I think it should occupy the page of this name.

On this current disambiguation page it suggests that Shrewsbury Sixth Form College (SSFC) could also be referred to as Shrewsbury College. I don't think there is any evidence for this: when the colleges are discussed in local newspapers they simply refer to the two institutions by their correct names and there is no apparent need to explain the difference.

Regarding the fictional Shrewsbury College, Oxford, there can be a note at the top of the Shrewsbury College page saying, "For the fictional Shrewsbury College, Oxford, in the novels of Dorothy L. Sayers, see List of fictional Oxford colleges".

I put this proposal up on the talk page of Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology last year. It now needs an adminstrator to either delete this page or move it without leaving a redirect to clear the way for the proposed move of Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology to this page.

Yes, this makes sense. I have proposed it formally as an "Uncontroversial move request" at Wikipedia:Requested_moves/Technical_requests#Uncontroversial_technical_requests. PamD 12:12, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DONE - thanks. This page was moved from Shrewsbury College to Shrewsbury College (disambiguation) allowing Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology to move to Shrewsbury College. Malevan (talk) 20:52, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
