What language[edit]

What language is this word in? Yiddish? Hebrew? Badagnani 07:12, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What century?[edit]

At first it says, "A Shtadlan ... represented interests of the local Jewish community ... in Medieval Europe.

A bit later, it says, "The Shtadlan emerged in the 17th century."

I am confused. Please explain. 75.84.97.215 11:44, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In Hebrew, is it shtadlan (שתדלן) or shadlan (שדלן)?[edit]

The current version of the article says the Hebrew word is shadlan (שדלן), but in English and Yiddish it is cited as shtadlan (שתדלן), with a t (ת) after the sh (ש). Is this correct? If so, can someone explain the discrepancy (preferably in the article)? If not, can someone please fix this? 78.43.40.201 (talk) 12:45, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
