EP?

[edit]

Like "TV Party", isn't this a single and not an EP? It's only 5:32 in length, EPs are usually at least 8 minutes, so isn't this a single? Correct me if i'm wrong. --Chickenguy13 (talk) 10:16, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"TV Party" is perhaps better described as a single because the song originally came out on Damaged, but the version on the separate release is a different recording than on the album, recorded at a later date and by a different lineup (Emil in place of Robo), and the 2 B-side tracks were recorded entirely separately, by yet another lineup (with Bill Stevenson on drums). It was released as an EP and has been categorized as such for almost 30 years (see the Stevie Chick book mentioned below, p. 401). The 2 Black Flag releases that are actually classified as singles are "Louie Louie" and "Annihilate This Week". It's a bit confusing, as all of Black Flag's EPs & singles have been released in all formats over the years (7", 12", cassette, CD), but if you want to bring it down to sources then those 2 I mentioned are all classified as singles while the others are EPs. --IllaZilla (talk) 06:40, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Move

[edit]

"Six Pack" is a maxi-single and not an extended play. So I am going to move the article. --Blaguymonkey (talk) 05:18, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong. It's an EP. It was released as an EP, and has been classified as such for the last 30 years. There are numerous sources to support this, but just for one check Spray Paint the Walls: The Story of Black Flag by Stevie Chick, p. 400 (ISBN 978.1.84772.620.9). Please don't move articles in this manner without waiting for some kind of reply. --IllaZilla (talk) 06:32, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
