I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Skytrax, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. This is an internationally reknowned airline research company (Inflight Research Services dba Skytrax) that provides valuable services for free to members of the public, such as a discussion forums, seat pitch guides, airport reviews etc. as well a running international awards. Of course it should be included. It is a main player in the airline industry. There are many independent sources for this in the industry. Here are two: http://airtravel.about.com/od/airlines/tp/skytraxbest10.htm and http://www.oag.com/oag/website/com/en/Home/Travel+Magazine/Frequent+Flyer/Airport+News/Top+10+Airports+for+Comfort+and+Amenities+02110613. The UK Government uses IRS research in formulating air transport policy (http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld199900/ldselect/ldsctech/121/12110.htm#a99). The article could be expanded, but it says what it needs to without being a "puff piece" IMHO. There seems to be a campaign against this company, witness the frequent vandalism on this page, and I suspect this is a further tactic in that campaign. I have removed the deletion notice. UK government policy formulation section removed.
I have removed the following from the article
"Its research is used by the UK government in formulating air transport policy, for example in the UK House of Lords Select Committee on Science and Technology's Fifth Report on flying and health.[1]"
The reasoning is as follows:
- The article states that Skytrax is part of Inflight Research Services, and Skytrax is not mentioned in the report at all.
- There is the implication from what was written (and now removed) that the UK government uses their research on a regular basis, however, only a single source can be found to support that its research is used...in formulating air transport policy, it has been used once, not many times as that would imply.

- I am returning the information removed. I suggest that Russavia has a clear and previously expressed bias re Skytrax. I suggest we leave it to other editors to decide whether this inclusion is valid. I am not really clear as to Rusaavia's objections in any case. I will change "is used" to "has been used" to address the one objection that has merit. Skytrax is part of IRS. That is undeniable. Harry was a white dog with black spots 13:51, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
New logo
