Someone should fix this, because the top section is copied verbatim from the summary from the Congressional Research Service on the LoC page. https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/113/s1410#summary/libraryofcongress
Merger proposal
[edit]No need to have two articles about the reintroduction of basically the same bill. 〈 Forbes72 | Talk 〉 03:00, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

opening
[edit]The opening sentence is very hard to read and comprehend. I think it's too long.
"The Smarter Sentencing Act (S. 1013) is a bill in the United States Senate that focused on limited federal resources and amends the federal criminal code to direct the court to impose a sentence for specified controlled substance offenses without regard to any statutory minimum sentence if the court finds that the criminal history category for the defendant is not higher than category two (under current law, that the defendant does not have more than one criminal history point)."
I'm going to work on it. Hannahthom7 (talk) 21:16, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
