Rewrite[edit]

Hello, I'm about to finish a Soundscapes PhD and this page is hugely out of date. I thought I'd put a note here as I'm considering a total rewrite as I do my literature review. If there's any objections please let me know, I've never edited anything this big before! Kimadactyl (talk) 12:49, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds great. I'd love to learn more about the topic (I have a few recordings, and have read a couple of books, but no other background). I will happily help you with any technical difficulties, or related questions as to where to find documentation (we have a lot of documentation...). :) –Quiddity (talk) 00:06, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks for that, and the nice welcome on my talk page :) Will start a sandbox page next week! (I just worked out how to do that...) Kimadactyl (talk) 14:54, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, I am a student at New College of Florida and am participating in a class project for a Music and the Environment course taught by Maribeth Clark. Our assignment is to edit the content of a chosen Wikipedia article of interest. I just wanted to say this is my first time editing a Wikipedia article and this assignment is due this upcoming Friday, 9/6 at midnight. If there are any objections to my edits, please feel free to contact me/edit them. Thanks. --Roadsidepoet (talk) 15:14, 5 September 2013 (UTC)Roadsidepoet[reply]

Help yourself! The main thing I think needs doing sooner rather than later is splitting and disambiguating "Soundscape" and "Soundscape Composition" as I think they're very different things. But yes, edit away, this needs more than a few little chops and changes though it needs a total rewrite. Updates on my sandbox page as I have time next week most likely!
