Class divisions[edit]

The reference to "the inflexible class divisions in the army of the time" seems rather like socialist propaganda rather than reality. The British army was and is no more divided by class than other armies. Soldiers were and are often promoted from the ranks - so much for the "inflexible" class divisions. Exeter Castle hyperlink[edit]
