Athletics stats
[edit]The Athletics stats comes from me. I'm a current student at Sprague. If that is not a viable source, I don't know what is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zed ramer (talk • contribs) 15:36, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for contributing! Unfortunately, being a current student isn't quite enough to be called a viable source, but citing published sources (such as the OSAA website) is a good way to start. For more information, check out Wikipedia:Citing_sources and keep up the good work! Ryanositis 01:26, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- Sprague was not the first high school to win two of the 'big three' state championships in one year. According to the OSAA, Beaverton did it in 1998 (Basketball and Baseball). Ryanositis 19:24, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Mascot
[edit]I removed an entry for the mascot of the school, as it was unsourced and slightly dubious. If anyone has a semi-reliable source stating what it is, feel free to add it back to the infobox. tedder (talk) 00:38, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- Reference to the mascot is sourced to the Oregon School Activities Association at http://www.osaa.org/schools.aspx/Sprague/. If you still find it too ambiguous, I do not mind removing it. Johnstonkl (talk) 19:06, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Johnstonkl, the current mascot entry isn't what I'm talking about- here's what I removed, a somewhat offensive mascot name. tedder (talk) 19:13, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you tedder. I am not sure why the offensive mascot was there. That is not even close to any of Sprague High School's themes. I am guessing there was a little vandalism going on there. Johnstonkl (talk) 15:12, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
wikify tag, undue coverage
[edit]I added the wikify tag today because of the external links in the body of the article. There should be no ELs in the body of an article.
Secondly, there undue weight on the marching band is getting excessive. It's nice to see a high school article that isn't focused around the football team, but there's no reason to list teachers by name and less notable accomplishments by the band. Sports championships are generally considered encyclopedic if they win first at the state level or above; this should be approximated and applied to the band. tedder (talk) 19:40, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
- Understood. I will remove the ELs from the body of the text and review the band accolades. Johnstonkl (talk) 15:18, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
