Every piece of information at wikipedia is important only for a particular group of people.
You cant keep deleting all such pages.
For example very few people would find the Switzerland album's page useful (yes, there is an album called Switzerland by Electric Six) An article cannot be categorised as deletable just because it's important for less number of people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vivek Malewar (talk • contribs)
- But we do delete articles all the time because they are not notable enough, see WP:BIO, WP:CORP etc. Otherwise, Wikipedia would be full of articles on people's dogs, streets, houses etc. You'd be on firmer ground if you could show why this particular festival is so much more important or well-known than other student festivals that it deserves an encyclopedia article. (If you disagree with the deletion, you can just delete the PROD tag, but then we'll be discussing this on AfD.) Sandstein 17:16, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- You're right, we do delete unworthy articles. But this one is not about a personal object. Moreover, I am not stressing over uniqueness of this college fest, but instead over the fact that a lot of people would find this information worth reading. And if the article is allowed to stay, it's quality would certainly improve with time. Anyways, I'm still not fully conversant with Wikipedia's deletion policies and procedures. That's the reason I commented on talk page instead.

This college festival is not just another college festival, it is one of oldest and the largest college cultural festivals of any kind in all of India. Spring Fest is almost as old as IIT Kharagpur itself (IIT Kharagpur started in 1951), the alumni of IIT Kharagpur are very attached to Spring Fest.
