[edit]

How the heck would the ancient Israelites use Tolu Balsam ???? Did the ancient Romans used to eat tomatoes or potatoes Please think a little bit, just a little. fabregasesteve Incense Exchange — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.43.120.47 (talk) 16:55, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article makes no references to the ancient Israelites using Tolu Balsam. It says that "Balsam of Tolu is sometimes called opobalsamum and is sometimes substituted for it, however it is not the true C. opobalsamum." Some believe the ancient Stacte was opobalsamum. Herbalists, which do not have access to the rare opobalsamum, substitute Tolu Balsam which they believe to be similar in scent to opobalsamum. CWatchman (talk) 14:49, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
