[edit]Condiser removing this Redirect as: 1- Stages of involvement does not imply software only, rather software and hardware. 2- In addition, link is made to DO178B, whereas Software does not mean only DO178B rather DO178 (since then, a DO178C exists for which Stage of involvment is also applicable) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marthy49 (talk • contribs) 02:05, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- Not being a perfect synonym isn't a reason to delete a redirect from Wikipedia. Redirects are simply a way to direct readers to the best available information related to a particular term. Only in extreme cases are redirects likely to be deleted. See WP:RFD#DLETE and other sections on that page. When a redirect target is simply incomplete or only tangential to the redirect term, then that information should be improved or a better target found. In some cases, the redirect itself can be expanded into an article, but consider whether the new content should actually be located in the target article since it is essentially a type of split and might arouse opposition. - The point is not that the link is not "perfect" rather is really misleading, as there is no indication whether this can apply to other domains, such as HW. If this Redirection is not removed, what would as a minimum be required is a redirection not to DO178B rather to SOI Acronym Wiki page that is much more accurate and removes ambiguity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marthy49 (talk • contribs) 08:46, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
