generalizing to Standard (chem analysis)[edit]

I would like to see this article Standard solution generalized (expanded) to Standard (chem analysis) to discuss all kinds of standards used in chemical analysis, including those materials which are not solutions. It should mention primary and working standards, and internal (those added to a sample to be analyzed) and external standards, standard curves or lines, and their use in calibrating instruments or quantities such as tetramethylsilane used as an internal standard to calibrate chemical shift in NMR spectroscopy or the use of a certain polystyrene absorbance to calibrate wavelength in infrared spectroscopy. I want to prioritize improving the content of the stub first by adding more information on topics relating to standard

solutions such as internal standards. Adding information on all kinds of standard solutions in chemical analysis will

provide meaningful content related to the article. Afterwards, the references and citations need to be improved by

adding recent references and in-text citations to support each claim made. Many claims made in the stub would

benefit by adding appropriate references. Next, images can be added to supplement the information. Images related

to calibration curves using standard solutions and an image/table that shows the preparation of standard solutions
