Fixing grammar (or not)

[edit]

Qono, in this edit, you removed one adjective and one adverb from an entirely grammatical sentence, with the comment "fixed grammar". Why?

(The sentence was written by Pinkville, any flaws in whose command of English grammar have gone unnoticed by me.) -- Hoary (talk) 00:09, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I removed non-neutral language to adhere to Wikipedia's policy WP:NPOV. Admittedly, my edit summary could have been more descriptive. Qono (talk) 00:21, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think you might be taking NPOV to a bit of an extreme. I wouldn’t argue, for instance, that describing a sunset as beautiful was a breach of NPOV because somebody out there might say that sunsets are ugly. I won’t (bother to) revert your changes, and I could certainly furnish some references of historians of photography who’ve asserted that Stillfried and Andersen’s images were “fine” and presented in “beautifully” bound albums, but I’d rather leave it as is while hoping your future edit summaries will be more accurate. :-) Pinkville (talk) 01:38, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
