8th Episode

[edit]

This is now the 8th episode in the series. 216.99.244.10 00:50, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, in fact it was listed as the 8th on the main page even before this one was created --Jtfolden 06:42, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Different Location

[edit]

Why was the setting of his office different than in previous episodes? Things just seem drastically different, with zero identifiable explanation. -- Hellmark 21:55, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Best guess: This was originally going to be the pilot. They probably felt the trap door thing didn't work on TV and changed it. Harry seems a lot more powerful in this episode than the others. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 23:02, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this episode was shot long, long before the rest of the series and many things that 'the powers that be' felt didn't work in the pilot were 'tweaked' before production continued. For example, in the pilot Harry's office and apartment are two different locations. --John T. Folden 02:54, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, ok. Personally, I didn't like this episode as much. Seemed to rely on and use his magic a lot, plus also seemed to be more powerful than normal, as mentioned. I'm glad they tweaked things. -- Hellmark 07:23, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Quite a lot diffrent in many respects, was more like a episode of Angel/Buffy in action content and scene transitions than the series so far,Special effects were a lot more numerous too, maybe a seperate list should be added under Trivia for Pilot diffrences, e.g. Trapdoor in apartment and decoration of office, Lot more magic used, when harrys bracelet blocks something a runic sheild appears. Im sure theirs more that could be found on a 2nd comb through. 83.104.138.141 02:52, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure we really need a huge listing of all the minutiae. Some things are not even notable to the average viewer. For example, there's nothing on screen that says the basement area is in conflict with the, normally seen, ground floor lab. The on-screen canon is just going to indicate that Dresden has a basement but rarely uses it. Heh. --John T. Folden 07:29, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Or vice versa, that he usually uses the basement, but rarely is ever upstairs. As seen in the werewolf episode, there is a backway to his lab that he normally doesn't use. Could be that the trap door, or some other door upstairs, is that back way. -- Hellmark 01:45, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In addition, Bob's absence was remarkable. I didn't much like this one, never really felt McFarland's (Susan) character come out. -- Rchan89 09:28, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Terrence Mann was not yet cast in the role of Bob during original recording of the pilot. For whatever reason, even though they re-filmed a few brief scenes, they didn't record any news ones to include Bob. --John T. Folden 22:17, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
