Potential merger with G.K. Stothert & Co draft article

[edit]

I've written a draft article covering G.K.Stothert and Co and the submission has been declined on the basis that it started as an offshoot of what became Stothert & Pitt and should therefore be merged with this article. It is worth noting that for the majority of its life (81 of the 96 years), it was a separate company. Crabjam (talk) 20:20, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Now live. Thanks for writing it, I'd been thinking about doing it myself for ages.
AfC is too broken to be of any use and should just be avoided. It's even worse (!) than AfD, for single editors with no knowledge of the subject being able to impose a single-handed opinion. Andy Dingley (talk) 23:14, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much - it's my first article and I had no idea that there were other options other than going via that route! Crabjam (talk) 07:34, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would generally recommend writing them in a draft space somewhere in your user pages, e.g. User:Crabjam/created/G.K. Stothert & Co. Then once you have an editing history here and are suitably accredited, you would be able to move them into live page space yourself, or ask someone to do so. Great - thanks! Crabjam (talk) 06:57, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
