1879 Swarthmore Garnet Tide football team was nominated for deletion. The discussion was closed on 23 September 2021 with a consensus to merge. Its contents were merged into Swarthmore football, 1878–1887. The original page is now a redirect to this page. Just a thought

With articles for 78 and 79, and no seasons for 80 and 81, why not just do 82 to 87? The lede might be more difficult to write, and while I confess I'd rather them all be single seasons, that might best fit the sources. Cake (talk) 17:27, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, I don't think 1878 and 1879 could withstand WP:GNG scrutiny as stand-alone articles. I could not find a single contemporaneous source of any kind for the 1878 and 1879 seasons let alone anything that would satisfy WP:SIGCOV.
