Sweet Basil Jazz Club is not listed because it is a corporation. In fact, it is no longer in existence. The article is about a historical place which played a prominent role in the development of Greenwich Village as a jazz center.

The blog is not with the former owner. If you re-read the article, you'll see that it was a prominent philanthropist noting that the jazz club was prominent. It was not the former owner. Further the blog is part of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, a reputable news paper and not an independent blog. The article as it is currently also contains internal links to other articles that ostensibly were considered prominent. Specifically, it notes that the Sweet Basil Jazz Club was the site of the recording of several recordings which were considered prominent enough for inclusion on wikipedia. Further, other prominent jazz musicians have noted that they performed at Sweet Basil. These include Ron Carter a double bassist whose filmography on his Wikipedia page includes Live at the Sweet Basil. A 1987 New York Times article noted the importantce of Sweet Basil as a jazz club where musicians were able to record (See http://www.nytimes.com/1987/06/28/arts/pop-view-hearing-jazz-at-its-risky-best-in-the-clubs.html?pagewanted=1). Anthony Branker, a prominent jazz musician from Princeton University cites Sweet Basil in the same sentence as places such as Iridium, a club which continues to have its own page on Wikipedia. His webiste at Princeton University describes the club as "internationally renowed".
